Mission Dining Tables Mission
tables have long been renown for their quality construction and mortis
and tenon joinery. Constructed entirely out of solid hardwood,
each
mission table comes with it's own unique character. Some mission tables
come with added flairs and classic details that soften and enhance your
table, while others maintain a straight cut look. Smooth straight lines,
straight edges, and square feet or legs are just a few of the mission
tables characteristics that sets it apart from the rest of the dining
tables.
Mission
style tables are in a class of their own. Their size and weight
exceed any of our other dining tables. They are built to stand the rough
knocks of life and still maintain it's durability and sturdiness. Though
all our other dining tables are also built from solid wood, none of them
are made with the mortise and tenon joinery like our Amish handcrafted
mission tables.
Mission tables work well :
With all mission chairs, some shaker chairs, and some chairs with
straight back slats found in our "Miscellaneous Chair" section.
Mission tables do not work well: If you have bowed back
chairs or Queen Anne chairs. Also consider the style of your kitchen.
Stay away from mission tables if you have a Victorian style kitchen or
dining chairs.
Double Pedestal Tables
Double pedestal tables are one of our most popular tables. They are big
enough for your entire family plus your guests - after leaves have been
added. Double pedestal tables allow extra seating space since there are
no legs to interfere. These solid wood double pedestal table are perfect
for formal dining or casual.
Pedestal tables come with gear driven slides.
Double pedestal tables work well :
With most chairs. Since double pedestal tables come in all different
styles, be sure to coordinate your table with your style chairs! For
example: Do not mix mission style double pedestal tables with bow back
chairs.
Double pedestal tables do not work well:
If you wish to seat more than 12 people. Most double pedestal tables are
capable of adding only four leaves. As a rule it works better to use a
leg table when seating a large amount of people. (There is one double
pedestal table available that can seat a large amount, but additional
legs must be added.)
Leg tables
Leg tables come in all styles, shapes,
sizes, colors, woods and options! Most leg tables come with wood slides
unless otherwise specified. All of the leg tables, regardless of style,
are completely constructed from solid hard wood. Not a single piece of
particle board or veneer is used anywhere! Leg tables, because of the
great variety of styles is probably more compatible to any style of
chair. - Again the rule applies: Make sure you match up style with
style. Leg tables are capable of handling a much larger amount of table
leaves.
Leg tables work well :
If you wish
to seat a large amount of people. Leg tables generally give a better
impression if the back of the chairs accommodating the table are not bow
back chairs. Press back chairs work well with most leg tables. The rest
match up style with style. If you need help, call us!
Leg tables do not work well:
Most leg tables look better with higher chairs. Stay away from bow back
chairs if at all possible. If your table has straight legs, stay away
from the Queen Anne chairs or any chairs with ornate legs.
Single Pedestal Tables Single
pedestal tables work great for small families! Leaves can be added to
expand the table. Different looks and styles can be created by choosing
your top style, pedestal, and feet. You can create a formal look or a
country look. All our pedestal tables come with gear driven slides which
make your table much easier to open.
Single pedestal
tables work well : In small dining rooms. Or if you have a
small family. They work great as card tables or game tables. Single
pedestal dining tables work with any style of chair. When designing your
table be sure to coordinate it with your dining chairs!
Single pedestal tables do not work well:
To
host large crowds.
Pub Tables
Pub tables are set apart from your normal kitchen dining
room tables. The pub tables are 36" or 42" high, while the standard
kitchen table height is 30". Pub tables do not extend to great
lengths because of these heights. (They would become top heavy.)
Most generally pub tables are used for special occasions.
Pub
tables work well : With bar stools or bar chairs.
Pub
tables do not work well:
With a standard dining chair because of the height of the pub table.
Trestle Tables
If you're looking for an old fashion looking table, the trestle table is
the perfect table for you! The two side "pedestals" are joined by a
trestle to add extra stability. Each trestle table is built by the Amish
from solid hardwoods and finished with a catalyst finish.
Trestle
tables work well :
With most mission chairs
and chairs with straight cut lines. Depending on the style of trestle
table that you select, the press back chairs work great too.
Trestle tables do not work well:
With bow back chairs, or any ornate chairs such as the sheaf chairs and
the Queen Anne chairs.
Library Tables
These Library tables can work as
dining tables and as office desks. A simple drawer is built into the
skirting of the table to provide easy access to paperwork and pencils.
